Fan Fiction : " Departure" by Fatal_Seraphin
This part begins during the fall of the Taurian Concordat.
Diabolic slamed opened the doors into the Protector’s new office. Now that Taurus was lost, Diabolic’s forces had bought time and paid dearly, so that the Taurian government could escape, to a new location.
“Marshal Diabolic! How good to see you.” Called Protector Shraplen, from behind his massive desk. “I was just about to send for you…” he said.
“The hell you were, you scum sucking low life!” Diabolic calmly replied, as he slowly approached the desk like an animal stalking his pray.
“You left my troops to die out there. We had to find our own way off planet. You took every single transport…” He said his eyes on fire, as he began to round the desk.
Shraplen, now believing his life in danger called out for his personal guards, “You…You know… you will get court-martialed for this… GUARDS!!!” No one came in the room.
A thin smile came over Diabolic’s face. “Go ahead, keep calling. No one will come. Not anymore.”
“What have you done!” cried the broken Protector.
“What have I done? Oh lets see,” began the fuming Marshal “I abandoned my army to save my ass; I requisitioned every single transport, to make sure there would be no survivors.” He continued. “Have I left anything out yet? Oh yes! How could I forget? I even emptied the emergency evac transport of all the wounded, so that my high priced friends could have a way off planet!” DOES THAT ABOUT SUM IT UP PROTECTOR SHRAPLEN!!! Screamed Diabolic as he finished rounding the desk and Shraplen fell backward into his chair.
At the sound of the commotion, the doors burst open and Kodi, Selena and Guardian entered the room.
“Everything ok here boss?” Asked Kodi, as he viewed the scene.
“Yeah, we’re done here.” As Diabolic straightened himself up and tugged is uniform.
He returned to the front of the desk and came to attention. Reaching in his inside pocket, he retrieved a thick envelop, and dropped it on the desk.
“Protector Shraplen, it is my duty to inform you that I am tendering mine, my staff’s and most of our forces resignation. You will find them all in this envelope. You will also note that I have given you a complete inventory of the assets that were lost in the defense and subsequent fall of our capital, Taurus. Oh and by the way, I have also released this information along with the names of the fallen to all the news services, so that nothing gets hidden. If I were you, I would soon get ready to face a very, very inquisitive senate. You sir, have a lot to answer for.”
“YOU CAN’T DO THIS!!” Cried Shraplen. “What’s going to happen to our army? Where are you going to go?!?!?!”
“Don’t know and don’t care” Replied Diabolic, as he ripped his shoulder board ranks off his shoulders and threw them on the desk.
“As of right now the Taurian Defense Forces are no more. “
He turned and started toward the door, half way out the office he turned “Oh one more thing. I am taking what’s left of our forces and getting out of here. Don’t worry, not everyone wanted to go so you will be left with some force with which to defend your self.”
With that he whipped back around and exited the office.
As they exited the steps of the new Taurian Government building, Diabolic’s security detachment mounted up their vehicles and prepared to leave.
Guardian got behind the wheel of the command car and turned to his friend. “Why didn’t you tell him?” He asked.
“Why bother, he’ll know soon enough.” came the reply.
