Mechwarrior III Armour
Battle Mech Armour: Mech armour is comprised of multiple layers designed to protect the unit and its pilot against energy and projectile weapons respectively when damaged, the armour shears off and must be replaced.
Standard: armor uses no critical spaces, and is provides a good all round protection.
Ferro-fibrous: armour is a variant of standard armour that weighs less but unlike standard armour takes critical spaces
Clan Ferro-fibrous: uses half the critical spaces as ferro-fibrous armour, and provides the best protection for the least amount of weight.

Areas of Protection: You the pilot should be protected at all times.Critical areas are: Cockpit area, Torso , Legs. Auto distribute points in mw3 works pretty well & adds point to the most valued section of your mech. If you are going to build your mech from the ground up, Its best to think about placement of your weapons size & type. ammunition, if required. Heatsinks, Cases for ammunition. Armour placement. You can place Most of the parts you require inside the main torso area of your mech and minimal armour to your arms if you need a few more spaces or free up some tonnage.
“Dont forget legs, if you cant run your as good as Dead”!
