Mechwarrior III Components Page 2
C3 Computer: ( Command/Control/Communications Computer) The C3 aids in interfacing the battle computers of any allied Mechs, allowing better integration of tactical information &targeting/tracking capability. If you are carrying the Master C3 unit as opposed to the Slave C3 units which should be installed in your lancemates Mechs, you can bring up the map display and see an overlay showing the information present on your lancemates’ radar displays.
BAP: (Beagle Active Probe) This Unit is added to your targeting system & Increases your sensor range and shortens your target lock on time. This unit also allows the Mech Radar system to detect Shut down enemy mechs.
Targeting Computer: The Targeting computer enhances the pilot’s accuracy with lasers, PPCs, Gauss rifles & auto-cannons by automatically calculating the lead factor necessary to hit a specific area on the enemy Mech. A secondary targeting reticule is displayed as a small circle on the HUD.
C.A.S.E: (Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment) This is a special technology that, if mounted in a body location containing ammunition, automatically vents any ammunition explosions out the back of the Mech, preventing any additional damage to other locations. All equipment within the location is destroyed.
Armour: Mech armor is comprised of multiple layers designed to protect the unit and its pilot against energy and projectile weaponsrespectively. When damaged, the armor shears off and must be replaced. Ferro-fibrous Armour is a variant of standard Armour that weighs less but unlike standard Armour takes critical spaces.
Ferro Fibrous: (mw3/PM)
The "Now" standard Armour used on Battle Mechs & offers good protection under General conditions.
Clan Ferro-Fibrous: (mw3 /PM)
A Redesign of standard Ferro-Fibrous armour, managing to alter the properties of the armour to allow nearly twice as much resistance to weapons fire at a reduced weight.
MASC (Myomer Acceleration Signal Circuitry) This system greatly increases the speed of any Mech equipped with it, but raises your internal heat.
AMS (Anti-Missile System) The anti-missile system is a rapid-fire, point defence machine gun that is capable of automatically tracking, engaging and destroying incoming missiles.
As long as the system is engaged & has ammo, you can let the auto-tracking system do the rest.
Coolant (Flush) When your Mech gets too hot you are able to Flush a coolant around in the internal systems of your mech to help cool it
down. Cooling flush is limited but can be refilled when in the MFB.
MFB (Mobile Field Base)The MFB is a small group of repair vehicles that will travel to a near radius of the battle & can repair armour, replace ammo and internal structure & refill coolant. However they cannot replace a missing limb or destroyed component.
IFF "Identify Friend or Foe" The IFF signal jammer transmits blocking information to scatter the enemy’s radar. In this system confusion the enemy’s radar sees you as a neutral unit or structure, "Friend or Foe".
Jump Jets (JJ`s) Mechs equipped with jump jets are able to use their limited rocket power to make short jumping flights over or across terrain obstacles. The larger the Mech, the greater the number of jump jets are required to carry it across a given distance. In Addition jump jets generate heat when triggered. so it is worth keeping that in mind when piloting a Mech with MASC or when firing Lasers.
NARC (Missile Beacon) The Narc Missile Beacon is a modified missile launcher that fires a pod equipped with powerful homing beacons. any missile fired at an enemy unit struck by the Narc Missile Beacon has an increased chance to hit due to the homing signal from the beacon.
Artemis IV (Fire Control System) This Unit improves the targeting capability of a Mech’s onboard systems & enhances the tracking capability of any missile weapons fired. As a result, missile locks occur faster & the missiles fired are more accurate & have limited terrain following ability
